Freelance Journalist: Work on an Internship for the New York Times

Kant Koga shared his dream of a career in public service with me soon after we met three years ago. Since then, I have been consistently moved by his commitment to better the town of Ichihara, which has been his lifelong home. In Chiba Prefecture, around Japan, and overseas, Mr. Koga has introduced Ichihara to everyone he has met, sharing with them its worries and its vision. His experience as an educator and study of Japan's place in international affairs will be essential in ensuring Ichihara's future development looking to the 2020 Olympics and beyond. Beside his expertise, however, Mr. Koga has thoroughly convinced me of his deep love for his city and that he is dedicated to making Ichihara's citizens as proud of their home as he is.

Having worked with Kant Koga on numerous English education projects, I can gladly recommend him for public office. Not only is Mr. Koga perfectly bilingual – he speaks excellent English – but he has great insight into other cultures. A hard worker and true global citizen, Mr. Koga is passionate about education and uses his international background to find solutions that work for Japan. I consider him the ideal person to handle issues such as immigration and economic policy, and am certain he will bring positive change and a prosperous future for Ichihara. Kant Koga – yes, he can!
